[Via Scope Music] Yesterday, after months of preparation, Cool Collective Reps SPNDA (@Hologram2Beardz) and Rah Intelligence (@RahIntelligence) dropped their collaborative album Light Skinned. The Project builds on September’s Cornrows & Babyhairs EP, the latter of which contained the single “Gold Plates” which was premiered on HipHop DX. Featuring 11 tracks, the budding lyricist calls on fellow Retrospek member for production duties while REKS, Dua of Bad Rabbits and fellow Retrospek MC JuneLyfe serve as guest appearances. Previously released singles “Scapegoat” and “Sweet Chin Serenade” power the new collection of music, which features SPNDA’s signature gritty rhymes over Intelligence’s innovative soundscapes. With years of collaborations, the emcee and producer’s chemistry is at an all time high on Light Skinned as SPNDA expresses his own identity, and tackles stereotypes, the idea of judging someone based on their looks, and much more.
