Catch Wreck x Rah Intelligence – 4 the People

[Via Scope Music] Originally concieved and recorded in 2012, ‘4 the People‘ was put on hold after a failed attempt to raise money for the project on Kickstarter. The 4 track EP by Roxbury Natives, Catch Wreck and Producer Rah Intelligence, also features an appearance from Boston’s up-and-coming Cassius the 5th. Catch Wreck keeps it raw and classic with his approach, addressing societal issues over expectedly ill boom bap beats from Rah Intelligence. The project is now available digitally from catchwreckmusic.com. “Even though we missed the mark on the Kickstarter campaign, we wanted this music to get out to the people the way we intended. GreyScale – Bass Keep Buzzin’ (prod. by Nomak)

New track from the homie GreyScale! “Bass Keep Buzzin’” produced by Nomak. I wrote this track back when I first started making music and its just been sitting in my rhyme book until recently. The instrumental tape “Combine” by Nomak was one of the first tapes I wrote to when I started out. The track “Doze Off” was a definite standout from the project and when I heard it I wrote the entire song in one sitting, which is a rarity for me. “Bass Keep Buzzin’” is a sincere, heartfelt ode to Boom Bap Hiphop, and the art of rhyming. [Via ScopeMusic] Long overdue but we are excited to announce Scope Music Artist / CCRMG rep JuneLyfe (1/3 of Retrospek) has released his single “Stretch” which will be featured on his first R&B and first solo album ‘Rhythm iN Black’ which will be released in early 2014. Stretch by JuneLyfe JuneLyfe is a Boston based MC and singer / songwriter most known for his work with the Cool Collective Reps (CCRMG) as 1/3 of the hip-hop group Retrospek. “Stretch” is June’s first single off of his forthcoming project ‘Rhythm iN Black’ which is both his first solo album and also his first RnB album, presenting a new side of his musical craft. “Stretch”, though the most overtly sexual song on the album, avoids the obvious, simplistic interpretation with a multi-layered lyrical style characteristic of the entire project. ‘Rhythm iN Black’ is set to drop early 2014.

In “The Disposal,” the latest video off the ‘The Jeffrey,’ SPNDA invades Bartlett Yard, a former MBTA Bus repair depot slated to be torn down in a few weeks. Formerly a toxic community hazard, over the past summer it has been transformed into a community art space and hit up by legendary artists from across the city and beyond (Problak, Deme5, Percy, Team Rekloos, etc.). ‘The Jeffrey’ is a collaborative project between MC SPNDA (1/3 of Retrospek) and Producer/DJ EvillDewer, both from the CCR / Scope Music Family. SPNDA – Scapegoat feat. Dua (prod. by Rah intelligence)

New #CCR! SPNDA (1/3 of Retrospek) approached his latest single “Scapegoat” with the mentality of stepping up at an open mic and getting some weight off his chest. “The first verse deals more with scapegoats in relationships and the second verse is more general about scapegoats in life.” The song is a departure from the distinctive sound of SPNDA’s last project “The Jeffrey,” a collaborative EP with fellow CCR member EvillDewer, who produced the entire project. “Scapegoat” is produced by Rah Intelligence (another 1/3 of Retro) and features vocals from fellow CCR collaborator Dua (also known as the frontman for Bad Rabbits).
